A tribute gift is a unique and thoughtful way to celebrate a milestone, remember a loved one, or to honor someone who has made a significant difference in your life or the lives of others. Your tax-deductible gift will help us continue our mission to grow food, farmers, and community. In 2019, an Orchard Fund was established by Helen Lee and Peter Tao to provide for the maintenance of the orchard as a tribute to her father, Oscar Lee.
In 2021, EarthDance will begin offering the opportunity to make tribute gifts to support the planting and care of trees in our holistic orchard. EarthDance’s orchard consists of over 250 fruit trees, all chosen for their appropriateness to organic, chemical-free production in the Midwest. They include diverse species including Asian pears to native Pawpaws. Give a gift that provides annual renewals: the sweetness of ripe fruit, the leafy shelter of a tree's canopy, and the wonder of a thriving biodiverse ecosystem.
There are four different options for tree tributes:
A donation of $100 will help us maintain the orchard using holistic methods.
A donation of $250 will provide for the dedication of a newly-planted tree.
A donation of $500 will provide for the dedication of an established young tree.
A donation of $1000 will provide for the dedication of a guild — an established tree and the surrounding plantings which support it, from nutrient-accumulating comfrey to pollinator-attracting native flowers.
Recipients or their families will receive a customized acknowledgment card telling them that a tribute gift has been made in their name. Both donors and recipients will receive a map of the tree’s location. EarthDance will have tree tags and guild markers to honor tribute gifts in the $250-$1000 levels. Look for our designs in fall of 2021. Donors and recipients will be invited to a tree dedication in fall 2021.
